Spring Break Book-A-Day Reading Challenge: The Runaway King by Jennifer A. Nielsen

15703770Wow!  Jennifer A. Nielsen is two for two in her great Ascendance Trilogy.  The second installment, The Runaway King, is every bit as exciting and riveting as the first book in the series, The False Prince, which I reviewed earlier this year.  I love the fantastic world that Ms. Nielsen has created.  It is wonderfully rich with details, and her characters are so well-developed that I can not wait to see what they will do next.    The Kingdom of Carthya is sitting on the brink of destruction, and it is up to the king to find a way to defend his land and defeat its enemies.  There’s just one problem — the king is missing after escaping a foiled assassination attempt!  The Runaway King is a “roller coaster ride of treason and murder, thrills and perils” and I loved every minute of it.   I am awaiting the publication of the third book in the series with much anticipation.
