Mission Statement

New Hope Christian Academy is an urban, college-preparatory elementary school providing students with a challenging intellectual and Christ-centered education.

Vision Statement

Our goal is to ground students in the knowledge of God as uniquely revealed in Jesus Christ and attested to in the Scriptures. New Hope Christian Academy places a unique emphasis on the immediate community in which the school is located, and it seeks to provide the highest standards for intellectual and Christ-centered learning by developing lasting relationships with students, families, and the church community. We strive to equip every child with the necessary tools to effectively pursue high school graduation and a college education.

Our Story

Around 1995, New Hope Christian Academy began as a dream of Steve Carpenter, a seminary student, who desired to make a difference in the lives of inner-city children in Memphis, Tennessee. With encouragement and financial support from a lifelong friend, Mr. Carpenter sought to begin a strong-academic Christian school for under-resourced children. Soon after, Mrs. Lila Wilkinson, a former co-worker and friend, joined him in this step of faith.
